Sometimes when I am having a not-so-magical day and the words just don't seem to flow, I look for inspiration. And quotes can usually do that.

Here are some of my favorites. If you have any (whether they relate to writing or not!) please feel free to share yours in the comments section!

"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear." ~ Mark Twain

"Books say: She did this because. Life says: She did this. Books are where things are explained to you; life is where things aren't. I'm not surprised some people prefer books."
~ Julian Barnes

“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.”
~Stephen King

"A pessimist sees only the dark side of the clouds, and mopes; a philosopher sees both sides, and shrugs; an optimist doesn't see the clouds at all--he's walking on them."
~Sam Levinson

"Sometimes a door slammed in the face creates just the right gust of wind to turn you in the right direction." ~ Unknown

"Because it's only when you're tested that you discover who you truly are. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work, faith and belief, and beyond heartache and fear of what lies ahead."
~One Tree Hill

"I know what I believe because I write about it." ~J.K. Rowling

“We have to continually be jumping off cliffs and developing our wings on the way down.”
—Kurt Vonnegut

"Maybe mistakes are what make our fate... without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart..." ~Carrie Bradshaw
